Editing my second book

While I'm waiting for the release of my first book, I've decided to go ahead and fully edit my second book in the series. Although I wrote it a while back, a lot needs to be changed, scenes added, and plotholes eradicated. Although I love my second book, the setting, tone, and overall narrative are entirely different from the first part. Since I've only been working on my first book for the last six months, it's really hard for me to focus on another book now, even though it's part of the same series with the same characters. I don't understand why I'm having such a hard time transitioning from one to the other. Perhaps the more I edit, the easier it will become. At least that's my hope for the coming weeks...
