Proofread Copy

So it's finally done! I've sent off my finished print cover, along with my fully edited and set book manuscript, to be printed. I'll hopefully receive my proofread copy within the next few days. I can't wait! Though I've published books before as ebooks, I've never held a printed version of my book in my hands. Am I getting too excited? I think I am, but rightfully so. Because I've been working on this book series for over a decade now, and the world with its characters seems so real to me. Does it sound arrogant to say that I'm mostly publishing this book for myself? To finally see my book standing on my bookshelf. I've always loved the tactile nature of printed books, and I can't wait to see what mine will feel like, look like, and smell it. I just know it will be everything I always wanted it to be. And so, finally, the girl who started writing her first novel aged 14 will be a truly published author for the first time in her life. And it only took 28 years to get here!
